20 isn't much but is something for a student.
I bet otehr brilliant guys went out of it and that's a shame.

Now, i made a big jou in this forum, my plog is a goldmine, so i would like to have it back (backup) and then i will want it to be erased from this board.

Sorry for all the trouble, we are looking into re-opening up all the forums. We recognize that these projector blogs are the main interest for this site and they must remain public. Unfortunately, the webmaster is away at the moment so it will take a few days to be implemented.

I agree that plogs should be free, if someone want to help, and he want do it for free then i should not pay for it.

Store is a buisness.
Find a better supplier or manage price to absorb the overhead costs.
A oculate use of ads would help too.
A deep analysis is need to evalutate the real situation.

Stock is another (BIG) issue, you can't solve it in few words.
Plogs should remain free, because they're other's goldmine, it is not fair that the forum's owner gain from others work.
I would say there's should be something like the "the expert corner" but it's not so brilliant....
I said ADS, i meant use few banner and google ads not so much to be annoying, but at least to help the cause (togheter with other arrangement)

What about a small amount of ads? Like I know some forums have 130235230423 ads everywhere while other forums have 1 ad at the top that.
I don't mind ads really. And for those who absolutely hate ads, thats what a premium account can offer(also there are FREE ad blocker add-ons for Firefox, etc). Furthermore, what do you do 1 year down the road when you end up needing a few more dollars to run things? Premium members have already paid their 20 dollars and probably won't want to contribute more because they already have. Ads will continue the website income at hardly any effort.
I know i haven't been here forever but I'm sure people would be willing to donate what they can etc. Another forum I belong to had this exact problem about a year ago. The owners didn't want to make it a paid site and I believe refused to make it a paid site. They opened it up for donation with an exact known amount they were needing to keep it running. They got it, and some. Its just an idea and I'm sure you'd had a donation but I think it would be understood a little better if everyone knew exactly how much was needed to keep the site free and/or running.

if i may ad a little bit and summarize a bit too:

-add some non-intrusive ads. a forums registers a lot of impressions and banner and text based cpm ads will generate a fair bit of revenue

-improving store will improve sales. add more items that people have to go to other sources for. For example, coil ballasts, more powerful bulbs, terminal blocks, etc.

-add a wiki, will expand information on the website and attract more people.

-if you want to keep memberships a benefit, close off some areas such as technical drawings, but not other people's plogs (though you can turn the pictures off).. increase the benefits for premium members, but dont screw over everyone else.. newcomers will be turned off by the fact that they have to pay to get anything at all, and that they dont know what exactly they will recieve when they sign for premium.
