This is the Mini-Z Projector. It uses a PS one screen as a video source and an OHP bulb for a light source. This DIY Projector can be built for under $200.00 and can be a fun first project.

What size is the mirrors or do you have to figure out the size? If you have to figure out the size how do you go about it? Thanks.

This design uses 2 Front Surface mirrors that are 7" x 5".

I love everything about this projector except the LCD. Luckily 5" wxga screens are now available. Perhaps a plasma lamp in there wouldn't hurt either

This is a really small projector, not enough room in there for a Plasma. Now we do have 5.6" panels with 720 so this would be a sweet projector with a 250w small form MH which I am going to be selling in the store soon.
Think its about time to do an upgraded version of this projector style.

a uhp lamp retrofitted into a halogen mr16 reflector would also be awesome and incredibly bright, but would require a little more diy work and lamp life is pretty useless. Perhaps even those 120w xenon lamps would also be a good alternative. The best part is that they can use that mr16 reflector. Those reflectors can make a HUGE difference in terms of brightness. I was amazed when I did my initial tests

I think its about time to make a simple kit with this projector. I do want to use a better panel and controller. anyone interested in a kit?
