Joe, the lighting is definately in the works. As far as these, the parts are as easy to find as they are in any DIY, pretty much just think of it as a more compact option.

Then I think it is a great idea to offer a good solid metal enclosure at the store. Options like lcd size res and lighting systems or for that matter the complete kit would be upgrades and it would leave it more diy inspired.

Or worst yet nowhere to get the part.
This is why we are looking into different options for the DIY enthusiast, this can be a fully assembled projector ready to go or you can customize it with available parts. speaking of parts, if we sell it we back it. we will not leave you hanging with a projector that is going to break down. keeping it simple, clean, and DIY is the key.

This enclosure measures:

390mm x 290mm x 120mm Metric

15.5" x 11.5" x 4.75" US standard

I dont know if we can shoe horn a 8.9" panel in just yet. I believe the max is 8". Of course the enclosure is designed as a base for a DIY projector. This is a kit just like the wooden enclosures we sell here too. cant wait to see the mods people make with this enclosure.
We do have the Fully Assembled version as a plug and play ready to go projector too!
Keep an eye on the store as we will be updating and adding this to the many items we offer the DIY enthusiast.

This is DIYProjectorKits.

You know, with the measurements you gave and the pictures in post 23. I think with some spacers in the bottom of the top and some at the top of the bottom that a 8.9 will work in this case. And still look very good. I wonder if the menu buttons will match up. Dang Tescorp I may have to sell my second born. LOL

Hello everyone,

We have a number in our heads of what this is going to cost us and what we want to introduce it at.

But...we are here for you guys...we want to know what you feel this custom case is worth to you? We don't want to introduce it at a bad price but still want to price point it properly.

We have great plans already in the works for this setup...but can't tell you yet haha. Trust me it's well worth it!

Thats what I am looking for, a ballpark figure that people would think this should cost. We want to keep this in the DIY range but we dont want to give them away. (BTW, thats another contest)

Well, to be competitive, look at what the competition offers! (but to be fair, competition should be comparative, which in this case it isn't really )

Also, remember to take these specs of these projectors with copious amounts of salt. (I think the eVo was about the only fair one in stated specs)

Well you are right, there are tons of these around, churned out mass produced and inexpensively priced.
Remember we are comparing two different types of projectors. look inside ours, look inside theirs.
reminds me of the cheap printers I have to replace every two years.

That unfortunately is the problem. These we have our completely still DIY. The bulbs are not 400 bucks, they do not have proprietary parts that these inexpensive ones have...That is the hard part with our pricings.
