| <TABLE cellPadding=0 width=610 align=center border=0><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top align=left>Hello everyone, We have available a DIY commercial style metal projector enclosure and kits for 6.3"~7.2" panels. We have a picture and small video of it in action and want to see what you guys think of it? We would like to do a pre order option if you are interested. We think this is an awesome 720p option. Again we repeat, these are not commercial wanna bees, these are DIY setups available in kits or metal enclosures only. The enclosures will include the lens, LCD holder and light engine minus the bulb (150 watt), Fully woking versions include everything you need out of the box. we would love to get our Luxim plasma engines down the road in these. The enclosures will also accept the 6.3 or 8" setups but we recommend the 7.2". 240mm F.L. Lens (adjustable focus) 85" diagonal at 10' Has MST 6in1 controller. </TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top align=middle> <TABLE cellPadding=1 align=center border=0><TBODY><TR> ON SALE NOW IN THE STORE <TD vAlign=top align=right width="56%">$699.00 </TD><TD vAlign=top align=left width="44%"> </TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top align=right><EMBED src=http://www.ustream.tv/flash/video/883830 width=300 height=240 type=application/x-shockwave-flash flashvars="autoplay=false" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always"></TD> <TD vAlign=top align=left></TD> </TR></TBODY></TABLE> </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> Last edited by TESCORP; 12-26-2008 at 04:42 PM. |

| Guys, yes this product sounds very promising! We are getting an enclosure in the shop and the whole point that we would love to drive here is that we want to make the DIY scene so enjoyable...not have to spend 2k on a projector but get those great results. Here at www.diyprojectorkits.com we plan to bring all options to you guys out there and keep your interests. The DIY arena has grown so much since the old "dog coffin" styles. Yes how about it if your bulb goes out or if we get www.luxim.com designing something for this man it would be golden. We will still be looking into the plastic enclosures also, we havent forgotten about that. It just takes time and interest. We believe yes giorgos18 that yes getting some type of reviews from the major people is definately what we need..haha back to PR, anyone interested in beating them up for us haha. JK in time things will come we are sure of it. |

| what kinda price are we talking about?? 500 - 1000 ? less? and isn't metal and electrical kinda dangerous together ?

| If you properly insulate/ground everything its not dangerous. Also, if Bruce makes a full kit ready to plug and watch and if he screws it up bad enough to make it dangerous, I am sure he will find out the hard way before he ships it off. Of course if your building it yourself your on your own. Some basic electrical knowledge should be necessary whether your doing wood/plastic/metal as typically you will deal with high voltage AC either way. |

| Price? remember this is DIYProjectorkits! We could charge a lot for this one BUT, I think $999.00 will be a good price. Dont forget Premium Members get an instant 10% discount

| Yes, I already plan on getting one! I can't wait. Ok yeah yeah I seem like im self selling but 720p in that size and DIY without 400 bucks for a bulb...oh and did I mention we want to get www.Luxim.com possibly in this thing? |
| ||||
| Not trying to be negative, I just don't want you guys to invest in something that won't sell. 1. A major positvie to DIY is that it cost less... commercial 720p projectors cost under $800 now. And you can always retrofit a 150w MH to it once your bulb dies, but by that time it might be worth just getting a cheap wuxga projector (assuming prices fall). 2. Isn't part of the joy of DIY building it yourself. The way it has the homemade feel to it and lets other people see the "WOW" factor of you building it. |

Also the joy of building it yourself can be accomplished by just buying the enclosure and putting in your own stuff. besides when you show this to your friends and tell them you put it together you still get the "wow" factor going there. BTW, this in no means says we are giving up the Hand Crafted Enclosures we build here, just another option for the DIY Enthusiast to explore.

I was also told people buy those commercial projectors and use them till the bulb is about ready to go....then sell them on ebay and buy themselves a new one! That is why some people look for them with additional bulbs. I do like the fact that people come in and see my pj hanging and I tell them...with help from TESCORP...it is DIY! |

| you make some good points jimbo12d and the truth is that prices are falling. I guess at the end of the day, the price range needs to be within bounds of the competition b) some people love building their own projectors, whilst others like the customization (choosing their own bulb/lcd/controller etc...) to suit their needs, but without having to go through effort of physically measuring/cutting/assembling etc... For me personally, I was way more intrigued by the low cost of parts rather than the building process, which haunted me for months. I guess not everyone is hardcore DIY kind of guy (or girl), so this may appeal to the more casual case of person looking for a cheaper alternative. My brother for example is like that - He liked the IDEA of DIY projector, but was just too much effort for him to physically build. |

| I agree with everyone here. I myself am intrugued with the DIY but lack the time and all to build them. I have already went out and bought commercial and spent 2k on it. You have to understand that yes projectors are coming down in price but you unfortunately still get what you pay for. I love the idea of the plastic enclosures with the www.luxim.com bulb setups. Like Bruce has said, we want to OFFER everything a customer would be interested in. Trust us we have no capital to go out and buy a truck load of these and hoard them off on your guys, that is just not our style. But if we can offer them at a good price and still give you the option of DIY and not worry about proprietary parts that need to be modified to fix them then that is awesome. Please don't take this as us saying ah, you don't want to build it you just want to buy one of these haha. The hand crafted designs and kits are still a huge deal for us. Thanks again everyone. We hope to get more pics of this though for you. |

| After reading some more and thinking some more I went down to the basement and looked at my PJ. I thought how would it look with a smaller commercial pj hanging from the ceiling and I thought....this DIY one with some stain and varnish would look even better...like a piece of furniture or art..I then decided that because it matches or exceeds most projectors I wouldnt change it! You guys here really have something special! |

| To be honest I am more interested in the luxim lighting. I have always enjoyed the process or journey more than the return home. Design and building something has always been the enjoyment more than the wow factor. I do think it is a viable addition to your growing site the more options you can provide for every level of DIYers is alway something that has merit. And should be looked into, a base line kit with options to buy separate parts would be ideal I would hate to see you design and implement a kit that had a part go out of production and then nowhere to get the needed part unless a group buy was needed. Or worst yet nowhere to get the part.
